Lake Swannanoa - Activities

An alphabetical listing.

beach

Whether unwinding over drinks while watching the sunset, enjoying our scenic views, cruising our pristine waters, splashing at our beach, fishing in our lake and coves, or just enjoying the birds and wildlife, Lake Swannanoa, is a family-oriented association offering a little something for everyone.

Our sand beach provides a safe and fun place for young children to play and swim.  A large deep water swimming area with a swim platform is entered via a gently sloping beach.

For picnics and barbecues, we provide a picnic shelter and grill pit. We have a swing set and a good play area for the kids.

The Beach is Open!    COME ONE --  COME ALL

There was an excellent turn out of volunteers for our beach clean up day.  Bob D'Angiolillo organized a busy and productive day. Thank you for your efforts.

Many thanks to you all who came out to the beach: Jim & Roberta Smath, Carrie, Gracie, and Joanie Mackey, Kathy Bell, Norman Moon, Al Salzano, Ben Jackson, Steve Cannataro, Bob Craig, Pam & Olivia Fadden, Aly Wiegman, Bill Katz, Doug Leonard, Aly Wiegman and Jerry, Marilyn Reitzel, Laury Gilliam, John and Judy Wynn, and Terry Borden.  Audrey Kazimer brought over some home-baked goodies.  Tracey and Jovan Mijanovic provided bottles of water for the hard workers.
All of us working side-by-side made the work go quickly and was a lot of fun.  The beach looks terrific.

In order to finish up the beach preparations, Bobby D needs some more volunteers.  The tarp needs to be placed across the frame.  The dock needs to be assembled and secured in the water.  He would like to have these tasks done on this Saturday (June 12th) at 9:30.  Therefore, we need a few volunteers to help.

Please contact Bobby at radangiolillo@yahoo.com or call him 973-208-2898 so that he knows there are enough people to help him.  It will not take very long to do these two items.

Additionally, Dick Sweighardt has agreed to be our security guard this year.  In order to have him patrol the waters, we need to find a heavier weight boat. We can not purchase a  boat for this purpose so we are hoping to find one amongst our members. If you have a boat to donate or loan the association for the summer let us know by responding to this email or calling.  Or, you can trade your heavy boat for the LSHA rowboat.  Please let us know what you might have available.

For the comfort and convenience of our members, the port-a-john has been delivered to the beach and will be there for the season.  If you are a member in good standing, you should have received your beach tags and boat stickers.  Please come and enjoy the beach.

Regards,
Barbara Katz, President
on behalf of the Board of Directors

Please let Bob D'Angiolillo know if you can join our fun-loving work crew, radangiolillo@yahoo.com or phone 973-208-2898.

fishing, ice fishing

Ever see those perfectly round holes out in the ice? Fisherman enjoy the waters when the lake is frozen.

NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife “ New Jersey's Free Fishing Days “ Free Fishing Days are held annually in conjunction with National Fishing and Boating Week, and on these days anyone may fish the Garden State's public waters without a license or trout stamp. All other regulations, including size and daily catch limits, remain in effect. Anglers should also note that any smallmouth or largemouth bass caught during this time must be released.
